There's so many people who are going through so much right now. In so much anguish and pain. The economy definitely doesn't help. at. all. I see the suffering and cries of family, friends and acquainted strangers that come and go in my life. There are many things that can put anyone in a position to feel lost or make anyone feel like they can't get a break to achieve anything in life.
My heart goes out to you. The ones who have to claw their way to the top when the "ladder" is cheatedly lifted from your grasp. Not very often do I get a surge to type something meaningful to family and/or friends. It comes swiftly like a candle in the wind, and before I realize it, I'm left wondering where those feelings and words came from. I'm thankful when they come, because they don't happen often. Below are words of encouragement I gave to a friend. I hope anyone reading the message below are able to find comfort knowing we're not alone in our struggles and that we shouldn't have to be the only ones to shoulder all the problems occurring around us. After so long, I think we just get to the point in believing we can't do anything or that we're incapable due to the environment and the economy right now. If anyone lives in an area where there's more workers than work to be had, it will definitely leave anyone feeling like they're incapable to make a way for themselves. I've been in that position many times and I'm sure anyone in the same position, knows as well as I do, it's not because we want to be. I understand not all who wander are lost. However, when a friend makes it transparent that they're hurting, and you just happen to be sailing by in the midst of their storm and see them struggling in the waters. Would it not bring you an ounce of joy knowing you could reach down and grab their hand and at least bring them to the surface? Especially if that's all you could do?
"Don't be so extremely hard on yourself. This
economy is crap, and those at the top aren't doing their job that our
tax money is put into their lap to do. Their lack of effort is really
transparent in the lack of jobs and the jobs that are available but
don't pay enough for people to live on. There ARE companies that are
proof that corporations can pay their workers way more than a minimum
wage, that blows Walmart out of the water. I know it's easier said than
done. But please do keep your head up. Having went to church with you,
you've always been the spirited one when my spirit was broken. You
helped me get through a lot and you don't even realize how much you
impacted me. I thank you for your quirky attitude and uplifting spirit
about you, and I hope you gain/find your way back to it. It doesn't
necessarily have to be exactly the way it was. You can keep a piece of
it tucked away in your heart... and use it as a foundation to move on
and build onto it to continue to better yourself."
